Act Like You Like It

Hume

Robert Hume: Instruments and vocals

I’ve been working in a dead end job for a giant evil company.

Every week I’m 40 hours closer to death, yet I get further in debt.

When they ask me “How’s it going?” I say good.

I respond like they think I should.

Act like you like it ‘cause they’re none the wiser.  See?

Life is too short to be hung up on honesty.

My little buttercup…opens up her mouth and she won’t shut up.

I save all my money and I bought a ring.

It’s too late to return it.

Let’s do this thing.

I’ll walk down the aisle with a stupid smile.

Till death I’ll be in total denial.

Act like you like it ‘cause they’re none the wiser.  See?

Life is too short to be hung up on honesty.

So now I’ve finished this song.

I think you’ll like it, but I might be wrong.

Sometimes I miss the mark.

I turn on the lights and it gets dark.

Won’t you humor me just like I humor you?

Act like you like it when it’s through.

Act like you like it ‘cause they’re none the wiser.  See?

Life is too short to be hung up on honesty.

Act like you like it.
