Decade

I know one day you’ll run into me.

We’ll recall all we’ve done the past decade.

Some years were tough.

Not sixth grade.

I went to your house to work on History.

I saw your two CDs, a soundtrack and R&B.

We stood by a mirror.

You put your arm around me.

I seemed so small.

I know one day you’ll run into me.

We’ll recall all we’ve done the past decade.

Some years were tough.

Not sixth grade.

We stood on your lawn and waited for my mom.

You mentioned farmer’s tan, abortion, and tampons.

I did all the work and you had all the fun.

But it got done.

Right when I saw our reflection.

That’s when I made the connection.

Oh, no.

Some things just will never happen.

That was my thought bubble caption.

Oh, no.

I know one day you’ll run into me.

We’ll recall all we’ve done the past decade.

Some years were tough.

Not sixth grade
